Software Engineer
Software engineer ATS keywords that match how recruiters actually filter
Parsers and sourcers look for a stack you can defend: languages, cloud, data stores, and how you ship. Mirror the posting where it is true. Do not dump keywords you cannot whiteboard. Clusters below are illustrative — pick the ones that match your last two years of work.
Example output
Illustrative examples only — not real candidate achievements or testimonials.

Languages and runtime
Name the languages in production recently, not every tutorial. Pair the language with the runtime or framework the posting uses when you actually used it — Go with gRPC, TypeScript with Node, Java with Spring, Python with FastAPI.
A skills line of eight honest items beats a fog of twenty. Interviewers will pick two and go deep.
Cloud, data, and reliability
Enterprise SWE postings screen for AWS, GCP, or Azure plus a data store and an observability hint. Write the combination you operated: EKS plus Postgres plus Datadog, or Cloud Run plus BigQuery plus Grafana.
Reliability language only helps if you owned it — SLOs, on-call, incident write-ups — not if you sat near the people who did.
Delivery verbs, not adjective soup
ATS rows fill with designed, shipped, migrated, profiled, rolled back, load-tested. Those verbs belong inside bullets with a system name, not in a keyword paragraph at the bottom.
Avoid stuffing "microservices," "AI," and "10x" with nothing behind them. HireConcierge can align phrasing to a posting; it will not invent a Kafka platform you never ran.
Frequently asked questions
Should I hide a keyword list at the bottom in white text?
No. Modern ATS and humans both treat that as spam. Put real stack terms in bullets and a short skills block.
How many keywords is too many?
If you cannot talk for five minutes about a tool, leave it off. Eight to fifteen honest items is plenty for most SWE roles.
Do I need every cloud certification listed?
List certs that are current and relevant to the posting. Expired associate certs from five years ago rarely help and can prompt awkward questions.
How does HireConcierge use keywords on a SWE resume?
Aria reads the posting and aligns phrasing to the employer's language using experience you provided. You approve what is submitted unless you turn on automatic apply.
