Push your artistic talent to the limit on a team of world-class environment, character and concept artists who strive to innovate and inspire.

What You'll Do

Join the industry-leading Unreal Engine team as a Senior Technical Artist and help shape the future of the world and content creation. You'll work hands-on across the full development cycle from procedural content generation to world partition streaming, modeling, and terrain tools to define what best-in-class tools look like for creators across all platforms.

In this role, you will

• Contribute to the design and iterative development of world building and content creation tools in Unreal Engine

• Partner with Programming and UX teams to design workflows and build applicable solutions

• Ensure tools are best-in-class by creating prototypes, demos, and examples, and providing ongoing feedback

• Drive product initiatives with minimal direction

• Engage with internal Epic Games production teams and external users to understand their needs and requirements

• Apply subject matter expertise to influence product deliverables and manage the product roadmap

• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to articulate the problems you're solving and the value delivered to users

What we're looking for

• Experience in world-building and/or content creation (as a Senior Technical Artist or equivalent), working alongside strong programming teams

• Subject matter expertise in environment and asset production, 3D modeling, geometry scripting, and procedural content generation

• Experience with Unreal's Procedural Content Generation (PCG) Framework, Houdini, Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender

• Ability to represent user needs and think across near-term (tactics) and long-term (strategy) product goals

• Experience driving product initiatives and seeing features through from development to productization

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks, adapt to shifting scope, and work across cross-functional teams

• Scripting experience or strong technical fundamentals

• Artistic skills or a strong eye for evaluating artistic work

• Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, or a proprietary game engine is a plus

This role is open to multiple locations in North America (including CA, NYC, & WA).
