About this role

Objective:The Director of Supply Chain leads a talented team in driving all aspects of supply chain operations for our early-stage but rapidly growing company. The role entails developing, executing, and improving processes, tools, and systems that encompass forecasting, sourcing, procurement, outsourced manufacturing, inventory management, 3PL management, fulfillment, logistics.

You work nimbly and tactically, managing day-to-day supply chain activities while also strategically implementing practices for continuous improvements and future growth. You are expected to understand and orchestrate current state systems and supply bases, project future state needs, and roadmap initiatives to help Sunday deliver on its growth plans. As both player and coach (with emphasis on coach), you both digest spreadsheets and also develop team members as technical subject matter experts and as people managers.

Responsibilities:Day-to-Day OperationsOwning ultimate accountability for delivery to customers, direct and wholesale, on time and in full; accountable for processes, activities, systems and people that enable effective and efficient customer fulfillment, including forecasting, supply planning, production scheduling, purchase order management, and logisticsOverseeing supplier/manufacturer managementOverseeing supply chain and inventory management to ensure that Sunday is positioned to meet sales goals and growth plans without running out of stock and overcommitting to inventoryDeveloping and continually refining S&OP and other cross-functional planning processesParticipating in new product development efforts to make sure projects are completed on-scheduleHolding accountability for maintaining, improving, and creating new key relationships across suppliers and other network partnersSourcing and developing new products and components, in partnership with R&D teamOverseeing transportation domestically and internationallyEngaging with the Retail and DTC teams to ensure collaboration with each function that delivers success for both partiesPerformance TrackingDefining, refinding, establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks to measure the success of the materials and logistics initiativesMonitoring and tracking program effectiveness using reports, dashboards and scorecards on the operational status and maturity of programsStrategic PlanningCreating the strategic plan for supply chain based on evolving business plan and market dynamics. Determining overall optimal supply chain future state (capacities, costs, capabilities, geographics, etc.), leveraging best practices and innovative solutionsWorking directly with management teams to define future states and how we will get there; driving balance of current business needs with need to invest into the futureLeading cross-functional, strategic projects for Supply Chain. Scope, plan and execute financial and quantitative analyses that will yield critical answers to the strategic questions at handPartnering with functional owners to translate strategic objectives into a project roadmap including people, process, systems and assets Connecting the dots across multiple strategies and time horizons, and maintaining a holistic understanding of the business across all functions to maintain or evolve long-term strategiesTechnology EnablementUnderstanding and improving current supply chain technology in line with short and longer term objectivesEvaluating best in class supply chain technology and infrastructure suitable to the scope and size of the business, as well as scale for future growth. Contributing to the technology strategy by identifying, assessing and recommending external trends in technology and methodologies.Finance and Accounting PartnershipPartnering with Finance and Accounting for cash forecasting and cost classifications, relating to purchasing projections, COGS analyses, operational expenditures, and capital expenditures Driving development and tracking of supply chain budgets in accordance with the overall strategy to achieve company goalsContributing to operations planning process including SKU Rationalization, departmental planning, revenue forecasting and completing a final budgetManagement Responsibilities:

Daily management of the Operations Department Meet with each of your reports to create action plans, check-in on project/performance, and discuss opportunities for improvement.Ensure that your reports have the resources that they need to create innovative processes that drive supply chain efficiency Coach and manage your team through technical obstacles, and provide direction for improvementHave a deep understanding of your reports focus areas and enable them to have ownership of their function and work autonomouslyMentor, coach, and grow current team members in technical subject matters and in managerial competenciesAdvise department managers on strategies to advance their teams and cultivate their development as leadersImplement processes and sys
