About this role

We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to join our revenue accounting team in our Dallas office to support our Meetings & Events product. In this role, you will perform technical accounting analysis to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and US GAAP while managing internal and external audit requests. As a key contributor, you will drive process improvements, manage large amounts of financial data, and collaborate cross-functionally to challenge the status quo. This position offers an exciting opportunity to directly support Navan’s growth and global financial scaling efforts.

What You’ll Do

• Perform contract review to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and prepare related revenue schedules for complex transactions.

• Drive process improvements and automations within the revenue recognition cycle to enhance efficiency and scalability.

• Partner with event planners, deal desk, and order-to-cash teams to ensure all contracts are accurately processed and accounted for.

• Own journal entries and accounting reconciliations within the revenue close cycle.

• Prepare and review revenue-related footnote disclosure schedules for external financial reporting (10-Q/10-K).

• Support external and internal audits by providing documentation, analysis, and explanations of revenue-related transactions.

• Maintain internal controls related to the revenue cycle to ensure robust SOX compliance.

• Provide revenue reporting and analysis to senior leadership and stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making across Navan.

What We’re Looking For

• Ability and willingness to travel internationally to the UK and EU.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in accounting with a strong, in-depth exposure to ASC 606 and US GAAP.

• CPA license is strongly preferred.

• Experience building, documenting, and operating SOX-compliant processes.

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite or analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) is a plus.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
